About the Conference:

Now in its third year, the Sports Law Conference at Berkeley Law is a premier gathering of industry professionals to discuss cutting-edge issues in sports. 

This event is presented by the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment & Sports Law, the Berkeley Center for Law, Business and the Economy, the UC Berkeley Division of Equity & Inclusion, and the Haas Sports Business Club.

Adam Koshkin | JD Candidate, 2017
Co-Chair, Berkeley Law Sports & Law Conference

Adam Koshkin is a 3L at UC Berkeley School of Law and co-Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law. This past summer he served as a law clerk for Goldstein, Borgen, Dardarian, and Ho, a plaintiff's class action firm in Oakland, California. Next year he will clerk for Judge Judith Levy on the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit. Adam graduated from Swarthmore College in 2011 with a BA in Political Science and worked for the House Oversight Committee in Washington DC for three years before coming to law school. Adam is an avid Giants, 49ers, and Warriors fan.

Leah Hamlin | JD Candidate, 2017
Co-Chair, Berkeley Law Sports & Law Conference

Leah Hamlin is a 3L at UC Berkeley School of Law and co-Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law. Before law school, Leah earned her BA in Political Science from Yale University. This past summer, she was a Summer Associate at Nixon Peabody in San Francisco, and after graduation, she will join the chambers of Judge Josephine Staton in the Central District of California as a clerk. A Cincinnati native, Leah loves the Bengals, Reds, and Bearcats, and has of course adopted the Warriors.

Samya Abdela | JD Candidate, 2018
Co-Chair, Berkeley Law Sports & Law Conference

Samya Abdela is a 2L at UC Berkeley School of Law and Deputy Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law. In addition, she is currently the Co-President of the Law Students of African Descent (LSAD), and a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2015 with a BA in Political Science. Samya worked at Perkins Coie in SF this past summer and next summer will be a Corporate & Sports attorney in the Chicago office of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. In her spare time she loves to cook, travel and mentor aspiring law students.
