Samya Abdela | JD Candidate, 2018
Conference Chair

Samya Abdela is a 3L at UC Berkeley School of Law and is one of the Editors-in-Chief of the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Political Science and is huge Cal fan. She is also a part of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and competed at the National Sports Law Negotiations Competition this year. She will be working in the Chicago office of Katten Muchin Rosenman after graduation and in her spare time likes to cook, travel and mentor aspiring law students.


Drew Washington | JD Candidate, 2019

Drew Washington is a 2L at Berkeley Law and she is the Managing Editor of the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment & Sports Law. In addition, she is currently the Alumni Affairs Chair of Law Students of African Descent (LSAD), board member of the Juvenile Hall Outreach Program and a member of the Moot Court Team. She earned her Bachelor’s from NYU in 2016. Drew ran track and field in college and continues to pursue her love for running. In addition, she loves to travel and mentor young students. Drew worked as a summer associate at Winston & Strawn in San Francisco this past summer and next summer will return to the firm in their New York office.


Stacey Ward | JD Candidate, 2019

Stacey Ward is a 2L at Boalt, and is a Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment & Sports Law. Prior to law school, Stacey was an English and French double major at UC Santa Barbara. This past summer, she worked at the Department of Labor in San Francisco. Stacey was born and raised in San Francisco, and loves watching the Giants and Warriors. Her favorite NBA player is Manu Ginobili.


Joth Bullar | JD Candidate, 2019

Joth Bhullar is a 2L at UC Berkeley School of Law. Prior to law school, Joth studied Computer Engineering at Santa Clara University. In his spare time, he loves to write about sports, listen to hip hop, play basketball and cook. This past summer he worked for Baker Botts, focusing on Patent Prosecution and Litigation issues and hopes to focus on the field of Intellectual Property.


Jordan Lee | JD Candidate, 2019

Jordan Lee is a 2L at UC Berkeley School of Law and is one of the Sports Deputy Editors-in-Chief of the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law. Jordan graduated from UCLA with a BA in English and a minor in Global Studies. He is a long-suffering San Diego sports fan. He will be working in the Orange County office of Rutan & Tucker this summer and enjoys working out, cooking, and reading Michael Chabon novels in his spare time. 


Leah Read | JD Candidate, 2018

Leah Read is a 3L at UC Berkeley School of Law. Leah is an Oakland native and a huge Warriors fan. Prior to law school, Leah studied Political Science and African American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. During law school, she represented Berkeley Law in Vienna at the Vis International Arbitration Moot and externed with the National Basketball Players Association. She will be working in the New York office of White & Case after graduation. 


Adam Sterling | Executive Director, Berkeley Center for Law and Business

Adam Sterling is the Executive Director of the Berkeley Center for Law and Business at Berkeley Law and co-founder of Startup@BerkeleyLaw. Previously he was a startup and venture capital attorney at Gunderson Dettmer and the co-founder and director of the Sudan Divestment Task Force and Conflict Risk Network. Adam’s writings and work have appeared extensively in the press; including contributions to The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, and National Public Radio. He has appeared on a number of broadcast news programs, including CNN’s Situation Room and CNBC’s Street Signs.


Chante Westmoreland | JD Candidate, 2018

Chante Westmoreland is a 3L at Berkeley Law. Chante went to Colorado State University for undergrad and joined Teach For America after graduation. During her time with TFA, she taught elementary school for the San Antonio Independent School District in San Antonio, TX. In addition to teaching, Chante coached high school volleyball, middle school basketball and tennis, and served as a mentor for Girls on the Run. Chante currently plays on a winning law school intramural-volleyball team, and is an avid San Antonio Spurs fan.
